As the Executive Director - Head of Markets Tax Operations, you will oversee international reclaims and relief at source across our markets businesses, providing end-to-end oversight of Financial Transaction Tax (FTT) obligations for Spain, Italy, and Hungary, and hold responsibility for German withholding—driving accuracy, transparency, and resilient execution at scale.
You will also oversee Common Reporting Standards (CRS) and Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) information reporting obligations, ensuring consistent governance, data quality, and regulatory readiness across jurisdictions. Success requires a leader who can translate technical rules into scalable operating processes, partner seamlessly across front office and corporate functions, and deliver measurable improvements in scale, risk management, service delivery, and client outcomes—while advancing use of AI to simplify processes, strengthen controls, and improve decisioning.
Job Responsibilities

Own the governance, operating model, and control framework for markets international information reporting obligations within scope, including policy interpretation, oversight routines, and management reporting.

Lead end-to-end oversight of international tax reclaims and relief at source processes, ensuring accurate documentation, timely submission, and effective issue resolution across products, entities, and custody networks.

Oversee FTT execution and controls for Spain, Italy, and Hungary, including transaction identification logic, operational processing, exception management, and audit-ready evidence.

Direct oversight of German withholding governance, execution, and controls, including monitoring rule changes and ensuring consistency across platforms and legal entities.

Oversee CRS and FATCA information reporting governance and controls, including data sourcing/lineage, completeness and accuracy controls, exception management, and coordination of regulatory submissions and attestations with internal partners.

Partner with front office, operations, tax, finance, compliance, legal, technology, and internal audit to deliver consistent outcomes, clear accountability, and timely remediation of control gaps.

Drive automation and process simplification, including requirements definition, testing/validation, and production readiness, with clear focus on scalability, data lineage, and operational resilience.

Incorporate the responsible use of AI in tax and information reporting processes, such as improving exception triage, analytics/monitoring, and control testing—working with technology, data, and controls partners to ensure appropriate governance, model risk alignment, and explain ability where required.

Manage regulatory and audit interactions for in-scope reporting and withholding obligations, including preparation of materials, coordination of responses, and delivery of sustainable corrective actions.

Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team; set clear performance standards, succession plans, and a culture of ownership, control excellence, and continuous improvement.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Senior leadership experience in markets operations, tax operations, regulatory reporting, or a closely related control function within a global financial institution.

Deep working knowledge of international withholding tax, reclaims/relief at source, and transaction-based tax regimes, with demonstrated experience overseeing complex, cross-border operating processes.

Working knowledge of CRS and FATCA information reporting frameworks and operating models, including governance, data/control considerations, and partnering with tax/compliance/operations stakeholders.

Demonstrated expertise in control design and execution, including risk assessment, issue management, operational metrics, and audit/regulatory engagement.

Strong understanding of markets products and transaction lifecycles (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives) and how data and events flow through booking, settlement, and reporting.

Proven ability to drive change through technology and process transformation, including partnering with engineering teams and working with large-scale data and workflow platforms.

Experience leveraging automation and/or AI-enabled capabilities in operational, tax, or reporting processes (e.g., exception analytics, workflow intelligence, document processing), with an understanding of governance and control expectations.

Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across Front Office and corporate functions, make clear decisions under ambiguity, and communicate crisply at executive level.
