Full job description

The Great Indoors HVAC Limited is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Air Conditioning Installer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career within the HVAC industry and develop the skills required to become a lead Air Conditioning Installation Engineer.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you will assist with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of domestic and light commercial air conditioning systems across Bristol and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical individual who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in producing high-quality results, and is eager to learn from experienced professionals within a rapidly expanding HVAC business. We are hiring fast. As such we are offering a £1000 conditional sign on bonus.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

Installation of single-split, multi-split, and light commercial air conditioning systems.
Carrying tools, equipment, and materials to and from site.
Preparing work areas and protecting customer property before installation work begins.
Pressure testing, vacuuming, and commissioning activities under supervision.
Assisting with servicing, maintenance, and basic fault-finding tasks.
Learning to read and understand installation drawings and manufacturer specifications.
Maintaining company vehicles, tools, equipment, and stock.
Ensuring work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised.
Following company health and safety procedures at all times.
Providing a professional and courteous experience for customers.

Technical Requirements

Applicants should:

Have Category 1 F-Gas Certification (Category 1 - 2079-11)
Have a practical and hands-on approach to work.
Have a basic knowledge of installation and commissioning procedures.
Be comfortable using hand and power tools.
Have good attention to detail and a willingness to follow instructions.
Be capable of working safely in domestic and commercial environments.
Be physically fit and comfortable carrying equipment and working at height where appropriate.

Training and Development

Full on-the-job training will be provided. You will develop skills in:

Air conditioning installation techniques.
Refrigeration pipework and insulation.
Pressure testing and vacuum procedures.
Basic refrigeration principles.
Electrical awareness relevant to air conditioning systems.
Fault-finding and servicing procedures.
Customer service and site professionalism.
F-Gas regulations and industry best practice.

There will be opportunities to progress into a fully qualified Air Conditioning Installation Engineer role based on performance, attitude, and competency.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Category 1 F-Gas Certification (Category 1 - 2079-11)
Full UK Driving Licence preferred but not essential.
Right to work in the United Kingdom.
A genuine interest in air conditioning, refrigeration, or construction trades.

Desirable Qualifications

The following would be advantageous:

Previous experience in construction, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, or air conditioning work.
CSCS Card.
IPAF Certification.
Basic electrical knowledge.
Experience using hand and power tools.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday.
Standard working hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm.
Overtime and occasional weekend work may be available.
Travel throughout Bristol and surrounding areas will be required.
