About the role
Alifab (Welding & Fabrication) Ltd are looking for an experienced Laser Operator / Programmer to join our growing team in Stoke-on-Trent.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can take ownership of the laser process from receiving drawings through to nesting, programming and production.
Key responsibilities
- Operate CNC laser cutting machinery safely and efficiently
- Use Radan software to draw, nest and create programs
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Select and manage material requirements
- Load and unload sheet material
- Operate a forklift truck
- Carry out basic machine checks and maintain a clean work area
- Liaise with production to ensure jobs move through on time
- Identify opportunities to improve utilisation and reduce waste
Essential requirements
- Previous laser operating experience (essential)
- Previous experience using Radan
- Ability to draw, nest and create programs independently
- Valid forklift licence / previous forklift experience
- Able to read technical drawings
- Good organisation and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude and ability to work within a team
Desirable
- Experience with Bystronic or similar laser systems
- Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing environments
- Experience working with stainless, aluminium and mild steel
