Operations Engineering Manager
Rotary Engineering UK Ltd, based in Sheffield, is an established engineering business supporting the electromechanical repair and steel industries, with a global reach. The business operates in a niche service and manufacturing sector working with both small, local businesses and multinational companies. The company is a proud UK manufacturer and employs design, mechanical and electrical engineers.
As part of a succession planning process, a position has arisen for an experienced mechanical engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will oversee a small team of multiskilled engineers in the workshop, liaise with customers, support the business with technical decisions, upskill staff and ensure that production is efficient and on time.
The successful candidate will be a HNC / HND / Degree qualified mechanical engineer with not less than 10 years experience in a practical engineering environment. Good organisation, planning and problem solving skills are essential. Management experience and a recognised health and safety qualification are desirable but not essential. Occasional site visits may be required so a full, clean driving licence is essential.
Key responsibilities will include the following:
- Manage the engineering workshop with a focus on efficiency and on time delivery.
- Forward planning and managing workshop capacity.
- Run weekly production meetings
- Liaise with customers and provide quotations / estimates.
- Liaise with suppliers and ensure quality and lead times are adhered to.
- Provide engineering advice and training to the team.
- Provide advice and solutions related to engineering tasks
- Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all HSE regulations.

The job is located at our facility at Halfway, Sheffield. Normal working times are Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.
This is a full time, permanent role, the candidate must be a permanent UK resident and authorised to work in the UK on a permanent basis.

Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
