Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Sandwich Maker to join our team here at Woods coffee, front street, Tynemouth.
Working Hours
- 5:00am – 11:00am
- 5 days per week
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality sandwiches and other food items in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food preparation and customer service to develop their skills within a vibrant and friendly setting. The position involves working closely with team members to ensure customer satisfaction and uphold food safety standards.
Duties
- Prepare a variety of sandwiches, wraps, and salads according to company recipes and customer specifications
- Ensure all food items are prepared fresh, presented attractively, and served promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the food preparation area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with stock replenishment and inventory management to ensure ingredients are available when needed
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, upselling additional items where appropriate
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to maintain a hygienic environment at all times
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation is essential working within a restaurant environment is preferred.
- Must hold a valid Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety Certificate
- Allergen Awareness Training preferred
- Health & Safety awareness
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy is desirable
- Basic maths skills are necessary for handling cash transactions and portion control
- Kitchen or culinary experience will be considered an asset, especially familiarity with fast-paced food service settings
- Strong time management skills are essential to meet service deadlines efficiently
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance customer experience and sales performance.
