Vector Volt is an electrical installation contractor delivering cable installation packages on battery energy storage (BESS) and substation projects across the UK. We are recruiting an experienced working team leader to head up our installation teams on projects mobilising from late 2026, with the first sites expected in Scotland.
£300-£330 per day (CIS), depending on experience and certifications. Accommodation provided at no cost to you for away work.
The role:
A hands-on working supervisor role leading a team of 3–5 (electricians and cable pullers) on live energy construction sites. You'll deliver RAMS briefings, toolbox talks and point-of-work risk assessments, act as the daily interface with the Principal Contractor's site management team, keep daily progress records and look-ahead reports, and work on the tools alongside the team. This is a Vector Volt team leadership role – SAP/AP authorisation sits with the Principal Contractor, not this position.
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation + AM2 (ECS Gold Card)
- BS 7671 18th Edition
- SSSTS (Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme)
- Proven experience supervising small teams on commercial, industrial or energy sites
- Strong SWA glanding, termination, containment and cable installation experience
- Confident delivering briefings and maintaining site records
- Own hand tools and PPE
- Willing to work away from home Monday–Friday
- Right to work in the UK
- Full agreement to our zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy, including random and for-cause testing
Desirable:
- Supervision experience on BESS, solar farm, substation or DNO projects
- SMSTS
- First Aid at Work
- C&G 2391, IPAF, PASMA, confined space
Terms:
CIS self-employed subcontract basis – you'll need a UTR and will be responsible for your own tax and National Insurance. Rates paid weekly. Accommodation for away work is provided by us in shared houses – strictly no smoking and no pets.
