Do you want to make a difference in young people’s lives?

We provide residential care for children and young people and are looking for Night Shift Care Workers in our three-bed care homes near Drongan or Alloway.

We provide a homely, safe and supportive environment and promote responsibility, growth, learning and positive outcomes for young people who come to stay with us.

As part of a team, you will provide day-to-day care, support and direction to young people with challenging emotional and behavioural needs. The role requires you to work with national childcare practice and use planned activities as a medium for healing. It also requires that...

You will be able to forge supportive relationships with young people and genuinely enjoy their company, and want the best for them.
You are friendly, calm, compassionate, reliable and resilient, even in the face of challenges.
You want to gain professional qualifications and knowledge to support your work?

You will be able to work

Full-time 8am to 8pm shifts (14 shifts in every 4-week rota Salary from £13.45 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

Whilst previous experience would be desirable, excellent support skills, the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills
Experience working with children or in a support environment
Valid driver's license and experience of driving
Familiarity with IT systems such as word
Ability to work awake night shifts in a residential childcare setting
