Full job description

Day Shift Sunday to Thursday, £40,000 PA plus meal allowance & night out payments. Possible 1-2 nights out required per week. Must have held licence for a minimum of 2 years due to insurance.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled truck driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently from Mossend Railhead and/or Teesport Dock to RDCs in central Scotland. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate should possess experience in commercial driving, particularly with containers, and have a passion for delivering exceptional service.

Duties

Operate a lorry to transport goods to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring that it is secured properly for transport.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery notes and logs.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Follow all safety protocols to minimise risks while on the road and at delivery sites.
Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or questions from clients.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within commercial driving.
Ability to operate vehicles safely and efficiently.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
Good communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading and unloading cargo.
A valid commercial driving licence is essential, along with a clean driving record.
