Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our dental practice. This role combines patient care with administrative responsibilities, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all patients. The successful candidate will be organised, communicative, and possess a compassionate approach to patient interactions. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within a professional healthcare environment.

Duties

Assist dentists during clinical procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials
Take and record patient medical histories accurately
Manage appointment scheduling and patient check-in/check-out processes
Handle telephone enquiries, respond professionally, and provide information as needed
Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems
Ensure the cleanliness and sterilisation of dental equipment in compliance with health regulations
Support patients with post-treatment instructions and follow-up arrangements
Uphold high standards of infection control and confidentiality at all times

Experience

Prior experience in dental assisting or reception is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of patient care practices and healthcare procedures is advantageous
Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required for effective communication with patients and team members
Basic IT skills are necessary for managing electronic health records and scheduling systems
Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Strong communication skills to interact empathetically with patients and team members effectively
