Vehicle Technician Wanted

An MOT testing licence would be an advantage, but it is not essential.

We are open to both full-time and part-time applicants, provided part-time candidates are willing to help cover holidays for up to 16 weeks per year.

We offer competitive pay based on your qualifications and experience, with access to a generous bonus scheme after one year of service.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:45pm

Saturday: 7:30am–11:30am

You will receive 21 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive technology and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. The position is paid and suitable for both experienced technicians and those seeking to develop their skills within a professional environment.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and technical manuals to identify vehicle issues
Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks
Repair or replace faulty components, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Carry out welding and equipment repair as needed to restore vehicle integrity
Assist with vehicle assembly and modifications when required
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to prolong vehicle lifespan
Maintain accurate records of all work performed in accordance with company procedures
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and offering advice on vehicle care

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialised diagnostic machinery
Experience in vehicle assembly, maintenance, and repair practices
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling parts or equipment
Good understanding of electrical systems within vehicles and troubleshooting techniques
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
Organised approach to work with attention to detail in recording service history and diagnostics
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
