Job Location: Darley Dale

Hours of Work: 37 hours / week Mon-Thurs: 08:30 - 17:00. Fri 08:30 - 13:30

Job Summary
The Engineering Manager will provide support to the Head of Operations by providing engineering leadership, direction, and governance for the Site Maintenance Team. Also, be an effective advocate for the engineering and maintenance disciplines in strategic and tactical discussions and therefore enhance the overall effectiveness of the Site Leadership Team.

Primary Accountability

The Engineering Manager is accountable for

Function as the site Duty Holder with respect to Statutory Engineering Compliance
Execution of the FSG Group Engineering Maintenance & Reliability Strategy
Execute the local CAPEX/Major Maintenance programme
Execute sound Project Management methodology (PMM) for all project works
Execute Plant & Equipment restoration and maintenance to the required standards
Consistent application of those standards across the site.
Co-ordination and standardisation of Site Engineering Safety Rules and procedures
Site Engineering and Maintenance skills and competency reflect the overall needs of the business and its customers

Key Objectives of the Role

Ensure building/plant & equipment, modification, upkeep, and maintenance activity is conducted in accordance with the relevant Engineering Standards, Codes of Practice & Regulations
Ensure Statutory/Regulatory Engineering & Maintenance activities are completed, and corrective actions implemented in consultation with the Site SLT
Develop and use of Reliability Centred maintenance RCM principals, which can be implemented through TPM.
Manage and participate in Site Daily Management activities as required and ensure the Maintenance Team are also fully engaged in those activities at all relevant levels.
Execute the Group Engineering Strategy at Site level and be an advocate for it, ensuring that the Maintenance Team fully understand it and are working to support its implementation.
Use a robust Project Management Method (PMM) and Operational Calendar that will facilitate efficient and effective management of CAPEX/Major Maintenance, and support the Site SIOP process
Lead, coach, and support the roll-out of Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Planned Maintenance (PM) activities.
Support the overall FSG Group Planned Maintenance strategy and governance with respect to the implementation of the principals, technologies, and data collection techniques.
Ensure all Engineering & Maintenance KPI’s are reported as required both within the site and within the group
Support EHS and the SLT with the development of robust Engineering Safety Rules and Procedures development to ensure consistency of application and technical content.
Co-ordinate development of training and competency within the Maintenance Team with other stakeholders to ensure the team can meet the current and future needs of the business
Promote CPD for Technicians and Apprentices acting as a mentor where needed.
