Café Manager - The Pilots Mess Café

We’re looking for an experienced, friendly and organised person to join the team at The Pilots Mess Café and help run our busy, welcoming café.

This is a great opportunity for someone with café or hospitality experience who is confident working with customers, preparing food and taking responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the business.

The role will include:

Preparing and serving food and drinks
Providing excellent customer service
Managing the day-to-day running of the café
Staff rotas
Stock ordering and control
Cashing up
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
Supporting with staff recruitment and training when required

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, professional, a good communicator and a strong team player, with a genuine passion for hospitality and customer service.

What we’re looking for:

Minimum 1 year’s experience in a café, coffee shop or similar hospitality setting
Experience preparing and cooking food
Good organisational and communication skills
Confidence working independently and as part of a team
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred – training can be provided if yours is out of date

Hours & benefits

Our opening hours are 9:30am–4:30pm, offering sociable daytime working hours.

The role is for a minimum of 20 hours per week, with up to 45 hours available.
