Full job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Administrator to support the efficient and compliant movement of precision-engineered components and systems worldwide. The role involves preparing export documentation, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and coordinating closely with production, customers, and logistics partners to ensure on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate domestic and international shipments via air, sea, and road freight, ensuring timely delivery of engineered products
Prepare and verify export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and Certificates of Origin
Ensure compliance with customs regulations, tariffs, and export control requirements
Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory authorities to facilitate smooth customs clearance
Track shipments end-to-end, providing proactive updates to customers and internal stakeholders
Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, or documentation issues efficiently
Maintain accurate, audit-ready records in line with company and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with production and sales teams to align shipping schedules with manufacturing output
Support general administrative and logistics-related tasks as required

Skills & Experience Required

Knowledge of Incoterms, HS Codes, and international shipping/customs procedures
Experience coordinating export shipments within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Outlook)
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with customers and logistics partners
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment

Desirable (Not Essential)

Experience with ERP systems
Familiarity with shipping high-value or technical equipment
Understanding of compliance requirements for engineered goods or industrial products
