Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef / Chef to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in fine dining, food production, and kitchen management. Candidates with banquet experience, supervising skills, and expertise in catering or restaurant management are highly preferred. Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including shift management and ensuring smooth workflow
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing leadership, training, and mentorship to ensure high performance
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, stock rotation, and minimizing waste
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with attention to quality, consistency, and presentation
- Coordinate catering events, banquets, and special functions with attention to dietary requirements
- Oversee food production processes from prep to plating, ensuring efficiency and quality control
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless food service delivery
- Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and troubleshoot operational issues as needed
Skills
- Extensive culinary experience with a focus on fine dining, catering, or banquet settings
- Proven supervisory or team management experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Expertise in menu planning, food preparation, and inventory management
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop culinary staff
- Excellent organizational skills for inventory control and shift management
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with food service management, including catering coordination and restaurant operations
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and special dietary department procedures
- Competence in kitchen management software or inventory control systems is a plus
