Job Summary
We are seeking two talented and passionate self employed Hair Stylists to join our dynamic team on a self employed basis. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills and a keen eye for style, offering a range of hair services including cutting, colouring, and styling. This role provides an opportunity to utilise your creative talents while contributing to a welcoming salon environment. The position involves working with clients to achieve their desired look, providing expert advice, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Deliver professional hair styling services such as cutting, colouring, blow-drying, and styling to clients’ specifications.
- Provide personalised consultations to understand client preferences and recommend suitable styles or treatments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Upsell additional services such as eyelash extensions, makeup application, or specialised treatments to enhance client satisfaction.
- Manage front desk duties including appointment scheduling, client check-in/out, and handling enquiries efficiently.
- Mentor junior staff or apprentices, sharing expertise in hairdressing techniques and customer service excellence.
- Assist with store management tasks when required, contributing to the overall smooth operation of the salon.
- Build strong relationships with clients through excellent communication skills, ensuring repeat business and positive reviews.
Qualifications (Please do not apply for this role if you are unqualified, are an apprentice or have no hair qualifications, this is for qualified stylists only)
- Proven experience as a Hair Stylist or Barber with a strong portfolio of work.
- Skills in store management, customer service, and upselling are highly desirable.
- Additional qualifications in eyelash extensions or makeup application are advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with clients of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative working environment.
- Strong organisational skills to manage appointments efficiently while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety standards.
