Our Changing Waste site is an industrial processor of waste located in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is designed to handle a wide range of waste feedstocks. Our R100 Energy and Holme Bioenergy sites are Yorkshire based, R100 has the capacity to process up to 90,000 metric tonnes of organic waste per year. with Holme Bioenergy capacity to process up to 80,000 metric tonnes of organic waste per year.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Admin & Weighbridge Operator to join a great team of people and make a difference within a supportive and values-led Organisation.
Overall Purpose of the Role:
To oversee the day-to-day operation of the weighbridge across our AD sites, ensuring the accurate recording of all incoming and outgoing loads in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements. Due to the hands-on nature of the role, this position is site-based and requires on-site presence to manually operate the weighbridge and provide full coverage during site operating hours. The role also supports the efficient coordination of transport and logistics activities while acting as the first point of contact for customer and supplier enquiries, delivering a high standard of service and communication.
Cross-Site & Interchangeable Working
This role forms part of a centralised Commercial Operations function. All team members are expected to be fully interchangeable across sites and responsibilities.
This includes:
- Providing cover across multiple AD sites as required
- Supporting different operational functions (administration, weighbridge, logistics coordination)
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage all incoming and outgoing loads via the weighbridge, ensuring accurate and compliant transaction records in line with company and legislative requirements
- Handle customer and supplier enquiries effectively, resolving issues and communicating any updates to processes relating to incoming or outgoing waste
- Produce accurate and detailed reports for customers and suppliers, ensuring full legal compliance (including secure destruction, duty of care, and completed documentation)
- Maintain and update systems including SAP, WR1, and SharePoint, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to company procedures
- Coordinate with Plant Supervisors and Operators to communicate daily routing plans, supporting efficient site operations and strong cross-team collaboration
- Ensure all drivers entering site comply with site standards, including correct PPE; confidently challenge non-compliance and take appropriate action when required
- Work closely with the finance team to resolve queries and support accounts processes, ensuring timely Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) invoicing
- Collaborate with the Group C/S Systems & Admin Lead to identify improvements, streamline processes, reduce duplication, and support automation initiatives
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements at all times
- Support standardisation across sites and systems
- Step into different roles/functions as required by the business
- Maintaining consistent standards, processes, and data integrity regardless of site location
- Adapting to changing business needs, including absence cover, peak demand, and operational issues
All team members are expected to develop working knowledge across all core processes and systems to enable effective cross-functional support.
Individual competencies & role requirements
Technical expertise
- Administration qualification preferred but not essential
- Previous experience with SAP preferred but not essential
- Working knowledge of weighbridge systems preferred but not essential
- High level of computer literacy – proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Sharepoint) – essential
Problem solving and analytical thinking
- Ability to identify and resolve issues independently
- Confidence to question, analyse and act on information effectively with ownership and accountability
- Attention to detail is paramount – being able to self audit own work – this role requires high level of accuracy
Communication
- Excellent communicator with experience of managing customers or supplier queries professionally – at least 12 months time “served” in customer facing role
- Ability to communicate diplomatically and represent the business professionally face to face to drivers and haulier representatives at the weighbridge and on site
- Clear reporting to all stakeholders and timely and accurate input to commercial filing system
Project and time management
- Natural adoption of a methodical and organised approach to duties
- Ability to multi task effectively
Working hours 40 hours per week + as additional needs of the business dictate; Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00
