Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust offers a range of fantastic opportunities to grow your career across both hospital and community settings in south London. Whether you're looking to build new skills or take your experience to the next level, we are uniquely placed to provide the right environment to support your professional development. With colleagues working in people’s homes, in community clinics, and in our two hospitals, we have an outstanding breadth of knowledge and experience to draw from.
Our commitment to exceptional care is reflected in being the first trust of our kind in London to achieve an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the CQC for both overall quality and leadership. We exist to provide the best possible care for our patients and we do that by giving our colleagues what they need to be their best at work. We have won numerous awards from the HSJ and Nursing Times for the way we support our colleagues across all our services.
We are proud to be recognised for our outstanding cancer care, children's services, pioneering surgical teams, and exceptional rehabilitation services. Our maternity services have been rated the "Best in London" by women surveyed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), with parents travelling to Kingston to take advantage of our considerable experience and expertise.

- Inclusive: We embrace diversity and respect the unique contributions of every individual.
- Collaborative: We foster teamwork across all levels, working together and with our partners to deliver the best outcomes.
- Inspiring: We are committed to continuous improvement and excellence in patient care, staff development, and innovation.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant HR Advisor to join the AskHR team. The Assistant HR Advisor will support the Ask HR team with the provision of a comprehensive and high-quality HR administrative service to Trust managers and staff. They will provide a high level of support and assistance in ensuring key activities are undertaken in an efficient and effective manner. The postholder, along with another colleague, will be responsible for overseeing and undertaking all HR compliance checks and will be expected to maintain efficient administration of these processes and ensure accurate recording of all data. They will also effectively manage shared mailboxes, ensuring emails are responded to in a timely manner. They will offer a customer focused approach, liaising with managers and staff across all Divisions, Union Representatives and where necessary, external agencies.
The post holder will be expected to respond to queries via email and telephone, explain HR policies and their application to our stakeholders (staff and managers in the Trust) in a clear, helpful and supportive manner. Prior knowledge of Trust policies is not required; however, the successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive can-do attitude, a willingness to learn and have a sound understanding of good people practices.
You will provide professional and timely generalist support to staff and managers across the Trust on a range of HR matters, including accurate information on all terms and conditions of employment (including Agenda for Change) and the application of HR policies and procedures in line with best practice.
Under the guidance of the HR Advisory Manager, the successful postholder will support all aspects of employee relations issues, ensuring compliance to legislation and policies and escalating when appropriate to mitigate any associated risks.
Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust cares for more than half a million patients a year, from across Kingston, Richmond, Elmbridge (Surrey), Merton, Wandsworth and Sutton. In 2018, we became the first acute hospital trust in London to be rated “Outstanding” for overall quality and leadership by the national Care Quality Commission regulator.
We have approximately 350 beds and directly employ around 2,900 staff. Our trust provides a full range of diagnostic services and treatment services. Our main site is the Kingston Hospital site but we also run a number of outpatient clinics in the community, including in Raynes Park, Surbiton, Queen Mary's Roehampton and Teddington.
This is a hybrid role, primarily based at our Teddington hub, a beautiful location nestled between the River Thames and Bushy Park, one of the UK's most renowned Royal Parks. This idyllic setting is perfect for a lunchtime walk in nature, and there are also charming independent shops and cafes nearby.
