South Staffs Water supplies a population of nearly 1.3 million. The area of supply stretches from the edge of Ashbourne in the North, to Halesowen in the South, and from Burton-on-Trent in the East, to Kinver in the West.

This field-based role covers the Staffordshire area, offering the opportunity to engage with customers daily while making a real difference. You'll be provided with a company vehicle, comprehensive benefits package, and the support of a business that genuinely cares about its people and customers.
Key Responsibilities:

Accurately collect water meter readings from customer properties across the region

Complete all assigned meter reading schedules within the month to ensure compliance with Guaranteed Standards Scheme (GSS) requirements

Ensure meter data is recorded correctly and updated on company systems

Engage professionally with customers, answering queries and providing excellent service

Identify and report unusual consumption patterns, potential leaks, and faulty or damaged meters

Recognise and appropriately support vulnerable customers where required

Represent South Staffs Water and Cambridge Water in a professional and positive manner

Work efficiently to complete daily schedules while maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer satisfaction
What You’ll Need:

Full UK driving licence

Excellent communication and customer interaction skills

Ability to work independently and effectively within a field-based team environment

Strong attention to detail and accuracy when recording information

A flexible, adaptable approach and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Previous field-based experience is beneficial but not essential
