Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist or Apprentice to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-precision components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in various machining processes. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their expertise within a dynamic industrial environment.

Duties

Programme, set up, and operate CNC machines using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other relevant tools
Perform milling, and other machining operations to produce components within specified tolerances
Use hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment to assist with machine setup and maintenance
Conduct inspections of machined parts to ensure quality standards are met, utilising basic maths skills for measurements
Assist with welding and assembly tasks as required in the manufacturing process
Maintain accurate documentation of production activities and machine maintenance logs
Troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimise downtime
Support plastics injection moulding processes when necessary, ensuring optimal operation of related machinery

Qualifications

Proven experience in CNC machining, including milling and grinding operations
Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks and familiarity with CAM programming is an asset
Mechanical knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and machine maintenance procedures
Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment in a manufacturing setting
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances
Knowledge of Hypermill, Mastercam is desirable but not essential
Ability to read technical drawings and assembly instructions accurately
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards in a workshop environment
