Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support food production processes, ensuring efficiency and quality control
- Supervise junior kitchen staff and coordinate tasks during service periods
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen
- Manage stock levels, organise ingredients, and ensure proper storage procedures are followed
- Collaborate with the team to plan menus and develop new culinary ideas
- Serve food to guests in a professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Support senior chefs in organising kitchen operations during busy periods and special events
- Uphold hospitality standards by providing excellent service and maintaining a positive team environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within hospitality or restaurant settings
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations
- Supervising experience or leadership qualities to manage team members effectively
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Passion for culinary arts with a keen eye for detail and presentation
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Previous experience in food production, restaurant service, or catering is highly desirable
- A recognised culinary qualification or relevant training is advantageous but not essential
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
