Supervisor, where leadership will be overseeing the seamless operations and maintenance of different works. In this role, you will lead a team of skilled & semi-skilled operatives, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of our business infrastructure. Implementing and maintaining policies and procedures that keep our operations at the forefront of efficiency and reliability. A key player in shaping the future of the business and the team.
Role Responsibility:
Supervise projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and compliance. Coordinate with various teams to facilitate the installation of telecommunications infrastructure. Utilise tools and equipment safely while instructing team members on proper usage. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications. Liaise with clients and contractors to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns. Maintain accurate records of project activities, materials used, and labour hours. Identifying any potential risks or issues and develop mitigation plans
Key Accountability:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within telecommunications, either civils or fibre focussed.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong leadership qualities with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or a related field are preferred but not mandatory. Such as supervisor NSWRA ticket / Smart award
- Ensure a consistently high standard of work is produced in accordance with specification and quality standards through regular documented quality inspections.
- Direct and supervise day to day operations ensuring appliance of common operational procedures that comply with health and safety requirements.
- Ensure works are carried out safely, fulfilling the company’s health, safety and welfare responsibilities.
- Ensure all sub-contractors are compliant with providing the required information relating to their works, utilising bespoke company systems.
- Create and maintain good relations with clients and customers, both internal and external.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of own activity related to works under your control.
- Issue and record task briefings to all operatives under your control as and when required.
- Meet weekly and quarterly team productivity targets.
- Reporting to a Project Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out walk off’s on completed PON build projects, ensuring quality of work and accurate recording of completed works
- Ensure that all work is documented with any areas that don’t meet specification highlighted
- Review and report back on satisfactory areas and those of concern with corrective / improvement actions required
Qualifications & Experience:
- NRSWA (Supervisor Level) – preferred but can be renewed where previously held.
- Smart Awards SA002 / SA006 – preferred but can be renewed where previously held.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Previous experience within a similar role, supervising either Fibre and PON building or Civils projects within the utilities industry.
- Experience and understanding of both cable/fibre and civils would be advantageous.
- Good knowledge of quality expectations and relevant industry specific specifications
- Good communication, people management and leadership skills.
- Valid driving license is essential – Company vehicle provided for business use.
- The ability to work under pressure with a high level of attention to detail.
- A great attitude and fantastic work ethic.
- Experience working to tight deadlines maintaining an exceptional
- level of customer service.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages
