The Role
This is a new position which will be key to a successful future for this busy business. The Business Owners have created a successful business and now need a key individual to lead the team on site aswell as identify and drive forward improvements to ensure the Tearoom continues to exceed customer expectations.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Business Owners and will be a part of the Management Team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Day to day running of the tearoom
- Managing & motivating the team of staff (permanent and seasonal staff)
- Managing staff rotas
- Managing standards of customer service, cleanliness, health & safety, hygiene, atmosphere & ambience
- Managing stock levels and ordering schedules
- Managing cash and EPOS payments
- Monitoring general business performance
This role is an opportunity for the successful candidate to lead on improving existing, and establishing new processes to ensure a successful outcome for the above responsibilities. Ensuring at all times that the staff and customers are at the heart of every decision.
The typical hours will be 9am - 5pm over 5 days/week. Weekend work is required and seasonal hours may vary. The Business Owners will be flexible where possible for the most appropriate candidate.
Salary is dependant on level of experience and will offer an attractive rate of pay and conditions
A driving licence is essential.
The Person
Experience of leading a team of staff and/or working in a fast paced hospitality environment is essential. The ideal candidate will be customer focussed. Experience in handling staff personnel matters, and customer satisfaction is highly desirable and will be supported by the Business Owners. The role is multi faceted requiring someone who can comfortably multi-task and prioritise. You will be trustworthy and approachable, equally happy to work alongside the team aswell as lead the team, and the Business Owners will offer the support necessary to ensure a successful outcome. You will be a team player, working flexibly to demonstrate pride in food and customer service. The Business Owners are looking for an excellent ambassador for their business.
The Business
The Ark, Kippford is a busy tearoom based in the beautiful location of Kippford. The business is much more than a tearoom as it provides fresh home made food and drinks to sit in and for take away. In addition, there is a large ice cream counter, sweet shop and general shop providing essential foodstuffs and a wide range of gifts from local artists and makers.
The Businesses
The Ark, Kippford is one of 3 local businesses managed by the Business Owners family. The Ark, Kippford is the most established, having operated for over 2 years. Caddie’s Cove at Colvend Golf Club is the 2nd and latest business to open, and the restaurant is performing well for golfers, the general public aswell as larger scale events. The next business which will launch soon is Scoffers Fish & Chip restaurant and take away at Colvend. The family are focussed on developing each of these local businesses to their full potential, and this is why this new role is required.
