Residential Childcare Worker

Prioritising Futures Ltd is a childcare organisation dedicated to offering a nurturing, safe and inclusive environment for young people who have encountered trauma, leading to emotional and behavioural challenges.

Location: Burnley, Lytham

Salary; £36,720 - £38,160 per annum.

Children’s Residential Care Worker - Full Time.

Working Pattern: Full-time role (2 Days on 4 Days off incorporating sleeping in duties) 365-day service due to the nature of the work.

We are seeking residential care workers who are calm, conscientious, and compassionate, capable of tending to the daily requirements of our vulnerable young people.
We offer residential care workers support through our comprehensive training program, when you first join us. After finishing your training, you will become familiar with your role by meeting your team, attending a house meeting, and shadow shifts, which will help you ease into your duties. Managers will be on hand to offer assistance and guidance whenever required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

· To actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the children/young people.

· To report immediately any unsafe practices and conditions.

· To carry out duties in line with the company’s policies and procedures.

· To work in accordance with statutory guidance and co-operate with any inspection process.

· To promote structure, boundaries, and routines within the home.

· Provide a positive role model for the children/young people, presenting oneself in a highly professional manner.

· Work in line with children’s/young peoples’ care and placement plans.

· As required work with children/young people on intervention strategies to promote pro-social behaviour.

· To undertake the role of a key worker for children/young people.

· To deliver direct and individual work to children/young people.

· Support young people in project and group work.

· Provide and participate in leisure activities in line with the care and placement plans of the children/young people.

· Work in partnership with colleagues, other agencies, and professionals to meet the needs of children/young people.

· Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, children/young people, and families.

· Participate in and complete reports for, statutory reviews and meetings concerning the children/young people where required.

· Complete and maintain administrative records as required by the home.

· Undertake relevant training programmes as required by the Company.

· Attend and participate in supervision and staff meetings as required by the Company.

· Have awareness and take shared responsibility for the health and safety of the home, children, young people, colleagues, and oneself.

· Co-operate with the Company in complying with the Health and Safety requirements and therefore follow Company policies.

· Take responsibility for having sound working knowledge of key procedures including Safeguarding, Fire, and Health and Safety Procedures at your place of work.

The post holder may be reasonably expected to undertake other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility that may be allocated from time to time. It is the responsibility of the post holder to always comply with Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities requirements.
