CPCS BLUE CARD REQUIRED

WORKING 7AM-7PM PAID 12 HOURS PER DAY

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Slinger to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient movement of heavy loads using lifting equipment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects within a dynamic environment, contributing to the successful completion of construction tasks. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, construction experience, and a valid driving licence. A commitment to safety and teamwork is essential.

Responsibilities

Operate slinging equipment such as cranes, hoists, and rigging gear to lift and position heavy materials
Ensure all lifting operations comply with health and safety regulations
Coordinate with crane operators and other team members to execute lifts accurately and safely
Conduct pre-operation inspections of lifting gear and report any faults or issues
Assist in planning lifting sequences and securing loads properly before movement
Maintain clear communication with team members throughout operations
Drive company vehicles as required to transport equipment or materials between sites
Follow all site safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction or related industries, particularly with slinging or rigging tasks
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and site managers
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Valid driving licence recognised in the UK; experience driving large vehicles preferred
Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to lifting operations
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and adapt to changing project needs
Organised, responsible, and committed to maintaining high safety standards at all times

Pay: From £200.00 per day

Ability to commute/relocate:

Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

Slinger: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

CPCS Blue Competent Operator Card (required)

Work Location: In person
