What You’ll Be Doing
Project Leadership & Technical Delivery
Lead the development and delivery of complex environmental permitting projects
Manage technical outputs—risk assessments, environmental permit applications, and regulatory submissions
Apply risk assessment tools (e.g. LandSim, H1) and understand how permitting interacts with environmental legislation
Team & Client Management
Support and mentor junior staff across project phases
Oversee task allocation, QA/QC processes, and knowledge transfer
Maintain and grow client relationships; provide strategic advice to stakeholders and regulators
Business Development & Strategic Growth
Prepare technical proposals, quotes, and fee estimates
Identify and secure new opportunities through existing and emerging client networks
Support growth of the Environmental Permitting team across the UK
What You’ll Need
Essential Requirements
BSc in Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, Civil Engineering, or related field
10+ years’ experience in environmental consultancy or regulatory sectors
Deep understanding of UK environmental permitting frameworks and risk-based approaches
Proficiency with MS Word and Excel; confident in report writing and data management
Strong project management and communication skills
Experience with Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Desirable
MSc or relevant higher qualification
Chartered status (e.g., CIWEM, IEMA, or similar)
