Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator

Becconsall Heritage Park is a Living Museum in development over a period of years. We will have a diversity of heritage features and currently provide a wide range of events and activities for visitors. We offer guided visits, presentations, heritage events and have an attractive woodland, lake and nature trail.

Volunteering has an important role to play in the ethos of the Museum, helping to develop our project, deliver events, offer learning opportunities along with benefits to wellbeing, teamwork and developing friendships.

We are situated in a coastal location on an attractive 20-acre Biological Heritage site with industrial and social heritage between Southport and Preston.

We are seeking an adaptable and organised Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator to support all aspects of volunteering.

This will include:

Support the Heritage Park Manager with various tasks
Working with Volunteers of all ages and abilities
Supervise and support volunteers, providing guidance, training and recognising their contributions
Recruit, screen, and onboard new volunteers through various channels including social media management, community outreach and volunteering websites
Managing safety
Coordinate volunteer schedules to ensure adequate coverage for events and programmes
Assisting with event organisation
Utilise marketing skills to promote volunteer opportunities via social media platforms and local networks
Manage administrative tasks related to volunteer records, attendance, and programme documentation
Assist with social media and administration tasks
Working at least one day at over a weekend

The Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator will play a vital role in fostering positive relationships with volunteers and ensuring the successful delivery of our programmes aligned with organisational goals.

Qualifications

Experience working with and managing volunteers
Proven supervising experience within a community or organisational setting.
Demonstrated leadership qualities with excellent communication skills.
Experience in marketing or social media management to promote programmes effectively.
Administrative experience in record keeping, data entry, or related fields.
An understanding of public health principles relevant to community programmes is desirable.
Organisational skills with the ability to motivate volunteers and foster team spirit. This role offers an enriching opportunity for individuals passionate about community service and organisational development.

This role will be based at Becconsall Heritage Park at least one day per week. There will be some work to be completed at home, and some work may require travel on occasion.

Pay: £15.00 per hour
