This is an important role within the business, helping to ensure our workshop has the materials and components it needs to keep production running smoothly.
The role combines stock control, purchasing, supplier management and stores administration. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock records, monitoring inventory levels, placing orders and ensuring materials are available to support production requirements.
Working closely with suppliers, you will obtain quotations, track pricing, manage purchase orders and monitor delivery schedules. You will also use spreadsheets and stock management systems to analyse stock usage, identify trends and help forecast future requirements.
This is a varied role that would suit someone who is highly organised, comfortable working with data and spreadsheets, and confident in communicating with suppliers and internal teams.

Monday to Thursday, 40 hours per week - Working hours 07:00 to 17:30 with a 30 minute lunch break OR Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week - Working hours Monday - Thursday 08:00 to 17:30 with a 30 minute lunch break & Friday 08:00 to 12:30
Plenty of overtime available at an additional rate
Salary typically in the region of £29,000 to £31,000 per year depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Manage stock levels and inventory records
- Order materials, components and consumables for production
- Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times and deliveries
- Book in deliveries and check goods received against orders
- Organise and maintain stores and stock locations
- Move and distribute materials throughout the workshop
- Carry out stock counts and regular inventory audits
- Match supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes
- Assist with supplier account reconciliations via Xero accounting platform and payment matching
- Maintain accurate purchasing and stock records
- Support production planning by ensuring materials are available when required
- Identify opportunities to improve stock control and purchasing processes
Requirements
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Confident using computers, spreadsheets and email
- Strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with accounting software or basic reconciliations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Comfortable working in both an office and workshop environment
- Physically fit and capable of safely moving stock and materials
- Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team
- Experience in stock control, stores or warehouse operations
- Experience in purchasing or supplier administration
- Experience in manufacturing or production environments
