Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Front of House Team Member to join our team. (18+)

(Casual Hours)

Thursday - Sunday Evenings

We are a bar, restaurant and hotel in the centre of Penrith.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and manage reservations to ensure a positive dining experience
Take orders and serve food and beverages promptly
Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing genuine recommendations
Maintain cleanliness of the front of house area, including tables, counters, and service stations
Handle payments efficiently using the POS system and provide correct change or receipts
Support kitchen staff with dessert making.
Assist in setting up and clearing tables during busy periods

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for enthusiastic learners
Knowledge of food preparation, serving techniques, and food safety standards is advantageous
Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
Experience with kitchen operations or culinary work is a plus but not mandatory
Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and sales performance

This role offers an opportunity to develop valuable hospitality skills within a supportive team environment. We value dedication, professionalism, and a positive attitude in all our team members.

Must be of age to serve alcohol. We are not hiring junior staff at the moment.

Evening Hours and weekends

Thursday 5-10pm

Friday 5-11pm

Saturday 5/6-11pm

Sunday 5-10pm

Pay: £13.50-£14.04 per hour
