About Us
We are a growing metalwork engineering and recycling machinery manufacturing company looking for a practical, hands-on Workshop Engineer to join our team. The role is varied and will involve fabrication, refurbishment projects, machinery repairs, and workshop support. For candidates with the right experience, there will also be opportunities to assist with machinery servicing, diagnostics, and maintenance.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a diverse workload and takes pride in producing high-quality work. No two days are the same, and you will be involved in a range of engineering and workshop activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication and modification of components and equipment.
- Refurbishment and repair of machinery and workshop equipment.
- Welding, cutting, grinding, and general metalworking tasks.
- Assembly and disassembly of machinery and mechanical systems.
- Assisting with workshop organisation and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Supporting machinery servicing, maintenance, and fault finding (depending on experience).
- Working from drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions.
- Carrying out quality checks and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
About You
We are looking for a motivated individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
Essential:
- Experience in a workshop, engineering, fabrication, or mechanical environment.
- Good practical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently when required.
Desirable:
- Welding and fabrication experience (Primarily MIG).
- Mechanical fitting or machinery repair experience.
- Experience servicing industrial, agricultural, construction, or plant equipment.
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical systems.
- Relevant engineering qualifications or apprenticeships.
