Accounts Assistant
Salary 27,000.00 to 29,000.00 per annum pro rated and dependant upon experience
Part Time 24.75 hours per week with flexibility on working days
About the role
Reporting to the Accounts Team Leader you will undertake duties that will support the day to day, accounts activities and administrative tasks of the business. This is a varied role working within a small team in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with purchase and sales ledger duties
- Assisting with daily financial transactions and maintaining accurate records
- Liaising with suppliers, customers, and other departments to resolve queries
- Assisting with credit control, including monitoring overdue balances, and contacting customers by telephone and email to chase payments
- Any other duties as reasonably requested
Bookkeeping skills and experience using accounting software
- ICB or AAT qualification desirable but not essential
- GCSE or equivalent English (Grade4/C or above)
- GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 5/B or above)
- Numerical & analytical skills
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Excellent level of attention to detail and organisation
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal to liaise with customers, suppliers and colleagues
- Experience of providing accounts support in a busy office environment
- Someone who works well as part of the team
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, be familiar with Xero or other accounting software. We are looking for someone who has a proactive approach to problem solving. You will be extremely organised and someone who demonstrates excellent levels of attention to detail.
