About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and organised Operations Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our commercial workwear laundry facility. The successful candidate will help ensure that customer garments are processed efficiently, quality standards are maintained, and operational targets are achieved. This role is ideal for someone looking to start a career in operations, who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and has strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
- Assist with the daily coordination of laundry production activities.
- Support the smooth flow of garments through sorting, washing, drying, folding, and dispatch processes.
- Ensure mats are cleaned, rolled and picked onto correct routes.
- Monitor production schedules and help prioritise workloads to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Assist in resolving operational issues and escalating concerns to management when necessary.
- Assist with transport issues, vehicle maintenance schedules, bank holiday covering, covering route driving during sickness/holiday periods, routine checks on vehicles, driver de-briefs and memos.
Inventory & Garment Management
- Track and manage operational inventory, including consumables, towels and stock items.
- Ensure garments are correctly identified, sorted, cleaned and allocated to customer accounts.
- Assist with stock counts and inventory control activities.
- Report missing, damaged, or non-conforming garments.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct quality checks on processed garments to ensure company standards are met.
- Identify and report quality issues, equipment faults, or process deviations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and service quality.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate operational records and production data.
- Update internal systems with garment tracking, customer information, and production metrics.
- Prepare routine reports as required by management.
- Assist with customer queries related to garment processing and delivery schedules.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
- Participate in safety audits, training, and operational reviews.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in an operational, production, logistics, manufacturing, or laundry environment.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain high standards of quality.
Desirable
- Experience in commercial laundry, textile services, or garment processing.
- Understanding of production planning and workflow management.
- Stacker truck licence or relevant warehouse certifications (if applicable).

Salary: £28,500 per annum starting salary
Hours: 40 per week

The Company
Rocliff is a family-run workwear rental provider which includes an industrial laundry service employing 32 people based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. We currently serve over 600 contracted customers across Wales and the Midlands and have in recent years expanded into Cheshire, Gloucestershire, and Worcestershire.
We launder, repair and deliver over 13 tonnes of workwear and dust mats across 30 routes every single week of the year.
