Timber Cutting Shop Operative – Saw Assistant (2nd Man)
Location: Marton
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm (45 hours per week)
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and hardworking Saw Assistant (2nd Man) to join our busy Timber Cutting Shop.
Working alongside experienced saw operators, you will play a key role in supporting the accurate cutting, handling and processing of timber components used in modern timber frame construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting saw operators with the loading and unloading of timber.
- Measuring, marking and preparing timber for cutting.
- Sorting, stacking and banding finished components.
- Carrying out quality checks and reporting any defects.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Assisting with general factory duties as required.
- Following all health and safety procedures.
What We're Looking For

- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Previous factory, manufacturing, timber, construction or woodworking experience would be advantageous, but full training will be provided.
