Job Summary
We're looking for an experienced and CSCS-qualified excavator driver to operate mini and midi excavators on active construction and groundworks sites. You'll be working on a variety of projects including drainage, foundations, driveway preparation, and landscaping groundworks.
Duties
- Operate mini/midi excavators (typically 1.5T–8T) safely and efficiently on site
- Carry out excavation, grading, and backfilling to instruction and drawing
- Work alongside groundworks gangs, labourers, and site management
- Comply with all site health & safety requirements
- Carry out daily plant checks and report defects
- Work to set-out levels and coordinate with site agent/supervisor
Requirements
- Valid CSCS card with relevant certification for excavator operation
- Proven experience operating excavators and plant machinery in a construction environment
- Mechanical knowledge to identify basic faults and perform minor repairs if necessary
- Commercial driving licence (CPC) or equivalent is desirable
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Sites based in Southampton so willing to travel or pick up can be arranged from Crawley or surrounding areas
- Good understanding of site safety, RAMS, and method statements
- Reliable, punctual, and professional

Pay: £190.00-£230.00 per day
