Full job description

The role of the Development Worker is to promote and ensure the safety, care, wellbeing, learning and development of the Participants in our care. Participants at Clynfyw are regarded as vulnerable through having a learning disability, mental health issues or other challenges.

The role involves enabling their growth in confidence and social and practical skills, promote their learning to provide and contribute to training opportunities for participants.

Development Workers work different shifts throughout the week as directed in accordance with a rota published weekly.

Some of the work will be supporting people living in the Clynfyw Cottages during the weekends and evenings with some overnight sleeps. The shifts are usually 3pm-10pm support in the cottage (10pm-7.30am paid sleep) 7.30-9.30 support in the cottage. There will be day service work, supporting people on projects from 9.30-3.00, but mostly it would be cottage work.

Development workers support participants to take part in meaningful activities, which promote positive outcomes that have been identified as an assessed need in service delivery plans to enhance participants’ wellbeing. This will be as part of a structured Day Service, and ‘out of hours’ supporting people living in Clynfyw’s cottages.

Development Workers should work within the ethos of Clynfyw CIC and to practice it at all times when working on the Day Service and residential service side of our work, including following the service delivery plans of the tenants when working in the cottages.
