We are looking for a motivated Director of Practice to take on a dynamic multi-site leadership role across our Priory and Stefan veterinary clinics in Crymych, Cardigan, Aberaeron, and Lampeter which are part of the inspiring vet care group.
Working closely with an experienced Clinical Director and two Head Nurses, you will lead and support a dedicated team of 10 vets, 15 RVNs, and a valued support network, ensuring consistency and excellence across all four locations. This role offers the opportunity to shape clinical standards, drive operational performance, and build a strong, collaborative culture across the practices. As Director of Practice , you will have overall responsibility for the operational, commercial, and people performance of 4 of our sites, working closely with clinical leadership to deliver outstanding patient and client care.
You’ll set and execute the strategic direction of the practices, lead multidisciplinary teams, and ensure the delivery of high standards across operations, client experience, and business performance. This role plays a critical part in shaping culture, driving results, and supporting sustainable growth.
- Lead the creation and delivery of the annual business plan, driving sustainable growth while engaging the wider team to contribute ideas, provide feedback, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor, analyse, and communicate both practice and individual performance, actively sharing best practice and contributing to the overall success of the wider area.
- Ensure outstanding clinical outcomes by maintaining full compliance with regulatory and governance requirements, while promoting and embedding high clinical standards across all sites.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through regular development discussions, performance management, and ongoing team support.
- Champion an exceptional client experience by driving client engagement, promoting service excellence, and ensuring high standards are delivered consistently in every interaction.
- Build and maintain an engaged, high-performing team culture, ensuring appropriate resourcing, supporting staff development, and maintaining a safe, compliant working environment.
- Take full accountability for the financial performance of the practice, including management of the P&L, delivering against budgets, and meeting all financial management requirements .
- Role is full time 40 hours per week
You are a experienced operational leader with strong commercial acumen and a people-centred leadership approach. You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role with accountability for operational and commercial performance ideally within healthcare, veterinary, or service-led environments but not essential.
- Strong financial and business management capability, including experience with planning and P&L oversight
- The ability to lead, engage, and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams
- Experience leading through change and driving cultural or transformational initiatives
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
