Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within a professional catering or restaurant environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen space. Prior experience in catering, cooking, or food service is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided to the right candidate.

Duties

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of workstations and equipment
Help with basic cooking tasks under supervision, ensuring food safety and hygiene protocols are followed
Prepare ingredients such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning to facilitate efficient service
Assist with serving meals to customers or guests as required
Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to during preparation and storage of ingredients
Support stock rotation and inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying relevant personnel of shortages or expiry dates
Maintain a positive attitude whilst working efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Experience

Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and meal preparation processes
Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices within a commercial kitchen setting
Experience working in a team-oriented environment with excellent organisational skills
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently under supervision

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts or seeking to gain practical experience within the hospitality industry. The position offers valuable exposure to professional kitchen operations while supporting the delivery of quality service.

Pay: £12.21-£16.63 per hour
