Why not join our established but expanding Medicines Team at the North West Ambulance Service in this role leading on medicines related projects across our trust and supporting the governance of the medicines management in our Medicines Supply Hub.

Do you like variety? You would also be involved in the training and education of staff within our team and to our operational ambulance teams including undergraduates embarking on their paramedic careers.
Do you like things to be right? You would be involved in devising and conducting audits to give us the assurance that we are doing it right and demonstrate compliance with regulations and processes.
Candidates should have experience and knowledge in:
- Understanding relevant medicines legislation and regulations and how to apply them and assess compliance against them.
- Project management - developing project plans, engaging with stakeholders & leading projects to be delivered to a high standard.
- Analysing complex data and being able to summarise it into high level reports for multiple audiences.
You must possess exceptional organisational, written and verbal communication skills with an inspirational can-do leadership attitude. You must be a good educator/ trainer to provide the foundation for driving excellent medicines management across NWAS. The role is a non-patient facing role but you will be working within a diverse multidisciplinary team.
Due to the geographical nature of NWAS there will be an expectation the post holder will be confident in driving long distances and working autonomously to fulfil parts of the role. You will work alongside other pharmacy technicians, pharmacists and medicines assistants within the Medicines Team.
This is a permanent role based at the NWAS Medicine Supply Hub site in Preston at least two days and occasional Saturdays (approx. 4 per year).
Assessment centre will be held on 15 th or 26 th June with interviews held the same day and you must be available to attend on this date if selected.
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
