The University has made significant investment in Sport Lancaster over recent years with the latest phase being a new 8-court badminton sports hall completed in June 2020 and now offering a truly outstanding Sports Facility.
The Sport Lancaster Team operate a purpose-built Sports Centre, facilitating our 8.5m climbing wall, multi-function Sports Halls, Swimming pool, sauna & steam room, 100 station Technogym Fitness Suite, Squash Courts. We also operate the University’s impressive Outdoor facilities including Rugby Pitches, 3G surfaces, Tennis courts and much more.
The Sports Centre is owned and managed by the University and is open to students across the UK, University staff and members of the local community. Sport Lancaster also proudly hosts several national events throughout the year.
Lancaster University Sports Centre is looking to recruit a Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher to assist in the provision of high-quality sport and leisure services for our students, staff, members and
The Swimming Teacher will be confident to work independently to develop, deliver, market and evolve the range of swimming lessons available. The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and have experience in working with a wide internal and external audience of mixed age experience and ability, within sport and the leisure industry.
A good knowledge of health and safety and high standards of customer service is essential.
Qualifications to include; ASA Level 2 Teachers Certificate. It is desirable to have Current RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or National Rescue Award for Swimming Teacher and Coaches qualification (training will be provided).
The position is for 4 hours per week to work on a Saturday morning 9am until 1pm teaching various stages in our Learn to swim program
