Summary
We are looking for a Senior IT Developer to join our IT development team in Lancaster City Centre.
This role is focused on maintaining, supporting, and improving a complex business-critical system built across a mixed technology stack. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, resolving issues, and supporting ongoing development as we transition to newer platforms.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a senior developer who will:
- Maintain and support a legacy system built using Classic ASP, C#, and SQL Server
- Diagnose and resolve issues in a live production environment
- Develop and maintain integrations with third-party systems (APIs / Webhooks)
- Support ongoing improvements and enhancements across the system
- Work across both front-end and back-end codebases where needed
- Assist with documentation and knowledge sharing
- Support transition towards modern platforms where appropriate
You must have the following
- 5+ years development experience
- Strong SQL Server knowledge (queries, performance, debugging)
- Strong C# programming skills
- Experience working with Classic ASP / legacy web technologies
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with APIs and integrations
- Strong understanding of how systems interact across a full stack environment
- Experience using source control tools (Git)
- Experience working in Visual Studio or similar environments
Ideally but not essential
- Experience with ASP.NET (Web Forms / MVC / Razor)
- Experience with JavaScript / HTML / CSS
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps / Power Automate)
- Experience with Azure (Functions, integrations)
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks (Angular / React)
- Understanding of system architecture and design patterns

Salary
£45,000.00 - £65,000.00 Per Annum D.O.E

Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm
