Full job description

Overview

Join our dedicated team as a PRE Worker (Promoting Recovery Engagement) in Drug & Alcohol Recovery. In this vital role, you will actively support individuals on their journey to recovery, especially those who struggle to engage with services. We are especially looking for a lived experience worker.

Your energetic approach will help foster a supportive environment that empowers clients to embrace healthier lifestyles and engage with recovery services & programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Engage with clients through outreach activities, providing motivational support and information about recovery services & programmes
Educate individuals on the impacts of substance misuse, emphasising the importance of overall wellness in recovery.
Facilitate group sessions or workshops on topics such as healthy living, confidence building and different models of recovery
Advocate for clients’ needs by connecting them with appropriate services.
Use lived experience appropriately to inspire hope and demonstrate that recovery is possible.
Provide one-to-one peer support, mentoring, and practical encouragement based on recovery principles.
Meet people where they are, including community settings, outreach locations, hospitals, hostels, or their own homes where appropriate.
Support individuals to identify their own goals and develop personalised recovery plans.
Encourage attendance and participation in treatment, health appointments, recovery groups, and community activities.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, statutory agencies, voluntary organisations, and community partners to improve engagement.
Advocate for individuals where appropriate, ensuring their voice is heard within services.
Safeguard adults by recognising and responding appropriately to concerns.
Maintain professional boundaries while using lived experience safely and effectively.
Contribute to service development by providing feedback based on lived experience and identifying opportunities to improve engagement.
Maintain detailed records of client interactions, progress notes, and engagement activities to ensure accurate documentation.
