We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Specialist Biology Technician to join our highly successful Science Department at our Secondary School and 6th Form. Supporting learning from KS3 through to A-Level, this role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a well-resourced environment and enjoys the technical challenges of advanced biological sciences.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist technical support across Microbiology, Microscopy, Anatomy, and Botany.
- Manage and maintain laboratory equipment and biological resources.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and refine innovative new practicals.
- Ensure health and safety standards (CLEAPSS) are maintained across all labs.
The Ideal Candidate
- Possesses a strong background in Biological Sciences.
- Demonstrates technical expertise in varied lab techniques.
- Experience in schools/ secondary school science/laboratory work
Duties
- Prepare experiments for student use in KS3, KS4 and A level sciences as well as working on additional workshop and outreach activities eg. year 6 transition and yearly projects.
- A special focus on A level - Biology and preparing experiments to a high standard as part of their specification
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring all tools are calibrated, clean, and functioning correctly.
- Organise stock levels of reagents, chemicals, and consumables, ensuring timely replenishment.
- Contribute to the development and optimisation of laboratory procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Pay: £22,945.00 per year
