Rotable Repairs Ltd is a UK based C&D rated Part 145 EASA and UK CAA/FAA Maintenance and Repair organisation for aircraft wheels and brakes, with an extensive capability list that supports the majority of the current aircraft platforms trusted by airlines and aerospace organisations all over the world.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Stores Inspector – Receiving & Certification plays a critical quality and compliance role within the business. This position is responsible for the inspection, verification, and acceptance of all incoming components and materials, ensuring that only fully compliant, correctly certified parts enter the production system. The role requires a strong understanding of aviation regulations, certification requirements, and production paperwork (PPW), as components accepted by this role are subsequently issued for the build and overhaul of aircraft wheels and brakes.
Working closely with the Stores Manager, this position acts as a key control point for airworthiness, traceability, and regulatory compliance, with the potential to develop into a deputy/right-hand role supporting the Stores Manager in day-to day operations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Receiving Inspection & Certification

Inspect and verify all incoming components, assemblies, consumables, and materials prior to acceptance into Stores.

Review and validate all accompanying certification and documentation (e.g. EASA Form 1, FAA 8130-3, C of C, traceability records).

Ensure all parts meet regulatory, customer, and internal quality requirements before booking-in.

Identify, report, and quarantine any non-conforming, incomplete, or suspect items in accordance with company procedures.
Paperwork, PPW & Traceability

Ensure all production paperwork (PPW), certification, and traceability documentation is complete, accurate, and correctly referenced.

Confirm part numbers, serial numbers, batch/lot numbers, modification status, and shelf life where applicable.

Maintain clear and auditable records supporting full component traceability.
Stores & Production Interface

Book compliant components into the inventory system accurately and in a timely manner.

Issue serviceable components to production in accordance with approved procedures.

Liaise closely with Production, Compliance, and Purchasing to resolve discrepancies and prevent production delays.

Support segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, quarantined, and suspect material.
Regulatory & Quality Compliance

Ensure all receiving and inspection activities comply with EASA, FAA, TCCA and internal Part 145 procedures.

Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and evidence when required.

Act as a gatekeeper for compliance, ensuring no unapproved materials enters the production process.
Support to Stores Management

Act as a senior point of reference within Stores for inspection, certification, and regulatory queries.

Provide cover and operational support to the Stores Manager when required.

Contribute to continuous improvement of stores and receiving process.

Support training and mentoring of other stores personnel where appropriate.
Authority & Accountability
-
Authority to accept or reject incoming components based on certification, condition, and compliance.

Authority to place items into quarantine and escalate issues to Quality and Stores Management.

Training will be provided to enable the post holder to become an Approved Engineer (without CRS) in accordance with company procedures and the MOE.

Upon successful completion of the required training and authorisation process, the employee will be issued with a company stamp and granted authority as an Approved Engineer without CRS, limited to the scope defined within their approval.

This authority does not include the release of components or aircraft to service unless formally extended and approved under the company’s authorisation system.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

NVQ Level 3, Vocational Qualifications Level 3, GCSE AS and A Level, Advanced Diplomas. Aeronautical and Technical School, Aeronautical Military School or QA Assessment. OEM or OEM training.

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a stores or warehouse management role within an aviation maintenance environment, specific experience with aircraft wheels and brakes is a strong advantage.

Regulatory Knowledge – Understanding of aerospace regulations, EASA Part 145/FAA, safety management systems (SMS), safety standards, and quality assurance processes.

Understanding of EASA Part 145/FAA/TCCA regulatory requirements relevant to materials and stores.

Experience handling production paperwork (PPW) and issuing parts to maintenance or overhaul activities.

High attention to detail with a disciplined, methodical approach to compliance.

Confident communicator able to challenge and escalate issues appropriately.

IT literate, with experience using inventory or ERP systems (e.g. Quantum or similar).

Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a production environment.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Experience within an aircraft wheels and brakes MRO environment.
-
Previous senior or lead role within stores or receiving inspection.

Exposure to audit participation and regulatory inspections.
-
Potential and willingness to develop into a deputy or supervisory role.
