Every day is different. Join Firle Estate on a fixed term seasonal contract as an Accommodation Host and help deliver exceptional guest experiences while working within one of Sussex’s most beautiful historic estates.
As Accommodation Host, you will welcome guests, oversee accommodation standards, respond to guest enquiries and help ensure every property is beautifully presented for each arrival.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines warm, professional hospitality with practical housekeeping responsibilities. You’ll help prepare accommodation for arriving guests, support changeovers, strip and make beds, carry out quality inspections, report maintenance issues, respond to guest enquiries, and assist with the preparation and service of food and drinks when required. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, organised and takes genuine pride in presenting beautiful accommodation and delivering exceptional guest experiences. An eye for detail and a willingness to get involved wherever needed are essential.
Working Pattern
23 hours on site each weekend, including one hour of unpaid rest breaks (22 paid hours per week).
- Friday: 2.00 pm to 8.00 pm
- Saturday: 6.00 am to 2.00 pm
- Sunday: 7.00 am to 4.00 pm
Additional hours may be available during weddings, events and peak periods.
Please note: Due to the rural location of Firle Estate, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence, have access to their own vehicle and be confident driving manual company vehicles where required.
The Role Includes
- Welcoming guests and helping them settle into their accommodation.
- Preparing accommodation for arrivals and departures.
- Carrying out routine cleaning and accommodation changeovers.
- Stripping and preparing beds between guest stays.
- Carrying out accommodation inspections.
- Responding to guest enquiries and resolving issues.
- Reporting maintenance concerns and helping maintain exceptionally high presentation standards.
- Supporting the Weddings and Venues team during busy periods, weddings and estate events.

- Loves providing excellent customer service.
- Has excellent attention to detail.
- Is practical, proactive and organised.
- Enjoys problem solving and taking ownership.
- Is comfortable undertaking housekeeping and accommodation preparation duties.
- Can work independently as well as part of a wider team.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in hospitality, accommodation or guest services.
- Confidence dealing with guest enquiries and unexpected situations.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to your own vehicle.
- Confident driving manual company vehicles where required.
Desirable
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience identifying and reporting maintenance issues.
- Experience working within hotels, holiday accommodation, visitor attractions or heritage properties.
