Skilled experienced roofer needed to join our expanding team - must have at least 6 years experience
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in roofing installation and repair, with a comprehensive understanding of construction principles. This role involves working on various roofing projects, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and delivering high-quality workmanship. Applicants should be physically fit, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Must be Honest and reliable, have good communication skills, be able to listen and carry out jobs as per our specification. Hard working and pro-active. Have a good understanding of health and safety and must be able to carry it out. Must be able to help our younger roofers learn and move forward. Have plenty of roofing experience - this job is not site work and is very customer fronted so communication is a must. Most work is based on the edge of the new Forest in the Waterside area so the closer you are the better.
Need a full uk driving licence and be able to get to our yard.
In return you will get paid weekly, van is provided, roofers mate will also be provided , uniform and ppe can be provided.
Rate of pay is negotiable on experience.
This is a singular roofing position - we do not need a roof and mate
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems using a variety of materials and techniques
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely to handle materials and equipment
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and to high standards
- Conduct inspections of completed work to verify quality and adherence to specifications
Skills
- Proficient in reading drawings related to roofing projects
- Experienced with hand tools and power tools commonly used in roofing and construction
- Knowledge of roofing materials, installation methods, and safety procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
- Strong understanding of construction principles with the ability to adapt to different project requirements
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for precise work execution
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and client interactions
