Full job description

Production & Finishing Operative

£28,000 - £32,000 per year depending on experience. Apprenticeship route also an option.

Made by the Forge is an award-winning British manufacturer of handmade wrought iron curtain poles, lighting and homeware products. Based at our workshop in Bramford, Suffolk, we design and manufacture high-quality products that are supplied to customers across the UK.

We are looking for a practical, reliable and conscientious person to join our workshop team.

This role would suit someone with manufacturing, finishing, engineering, paint spraying, woodworking or other hands-on experience. However, experience is less important than attitude, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

We are also open to applications from career changers and suitable candidates who may wish to undertake a Lean Manufacturing apprenticeship alongside the role.

Key Responsibilities

Painting and waxing finished products
Preparing metalwork for finishing
Quality checking products before dispatch
Picking and managing stock
Assisting with workshop organisation
Supporting continuous improvement projects
Helping maintain high standards of quality throughout the workshop

What We Are Looking For

Excellent attention to detail

Willingness to learn and improve
Practical and hands-on approach

Experience in manufacturing, engineering, finishing, paint spraying or similar industries would be advantageous but is not essential.
