Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our professional team. The successful candidate will provide vital administrative support within our Private Client department, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong organisational skills and a background in legal or administrative work to develop their career in a dynamic environment.

Duties

Prepare and type legal documents, correspondence, and reports using Microsoft Office applications.
Manage and maintain electronic filing systems, ensuring easy retrieval of information.
Assist with scheduling meetings and appointments, demonstrating excellent time management skills.
Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Probate applications with accuracy.
Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external agencies via letter, email and phone calls, maintaining professional standards.
Assisting solicitors in the team with the day-to-day running of a wide range of Private Client matters.
Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information at all times while adhering to organisational policies.
Assist with covering reception as/when required.

Requirements

Proven administrative experience, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—capable of liaising professionally with clients and colleagues.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) along with basic IT knowledge.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within tight deadlines.
Attention to detail with high standards for accuracy in all work produced.
Previous private client experience is desirable but not essential.
Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate. This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking to advance their career within the legal sector by leveraging their organisational talents and technical skills in a supportive environment.

This position is open to those with a vast amount of experience in a similar role to recent law graduates looking to secure their first legal position. Training Contracts/Period of Qualifying Training opportunities may be available for the right candidate, depending on business need and performance.

Pay: From £24,000.00 per year
