Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children within our nursery setting. This role involves leading activities, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment that promotes early childhood education. The position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth within a supportive organisation committed to high standards of childcare.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise daily activities in accordance with early years curriculum and organisational policies
Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate learning experiences for children
Mentor and guide junior practitioners, fostering a collaborative team environment
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times, adhering to safeguarding procedures
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily observations
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's development and daily routines
Contribute to the organisation’s continuous improvement initiatives and uphold high standards of childcare practice
Assist with organising outings, events, and special activities that enhance children's learning experiences

Skills

Proven management and leadership abilities within an early years setting
Extensive experience working with children in a nursery or childcare environment
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and best practices
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative and independence
Organised with the capacity to manage multiple priorities efficiently
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending off-site activities
Passionate about child development, nurturing, and creating engaging learning environments
