About the Role
Gtech is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Category Manager to lead the growth and development of our Floorcare, Haircare, Power Tools, and Garden product categories. This role is responsible for driving category performance, increasing market share, and developing effective marketing strategies across multiple channels to maximise sales and brand awareness.
The successful candidate will combine strong category management expertise with digital marketing knowledge, using consumer insights, market trends, and performance data to identify opportunities for growth and profitability.
Key ResponsibilitiesCategory Management
- Develop and execute category strategies for Floorcare, Haircare, Power Tools, and Garden product ranges.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity, customer behaviour, and product performance.
- Identify opportunities for product expansion, innovation, and portfolio optimisation.
- Manage category profitability, pricing strategies, promotions, and lifecycle planning.
- Collaborate with product development and sales teams to ensure successful product launches.
Marketing & Market Share Growth
- Create and implement integrated marketing plans to increase category sales and market share.
- Manage campaigns across multiple channels, including:
- Digital Marketing
- Paid Search (PPC)
- SEO
- Email Marketing
- Social Media
- Affiliate Marketing
- Retail & Trade Marketing
- E-commerce Marketplaces
- Influencer Partnerships
- Content Marketing
- PR and Brand Communications
- Monitor campaign performance and optimise marketing spend to maximise ROI.
- Develop customer acquisition and retention strategies.
- Identify new routes to market and growth opportunities.
Commercial & Data Analysis
- Track category KPIs, sales performance, market share, and customer engagement metrics.
- Produce regular reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Use market research and consumer insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Work closely with retailers and distribution partners to maximise category visibility and sales performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Product Development, E-commerce, Digital Marketing, and Customer Service teams.
- Ensure alignment between category objectives and overall business goals.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and annual planning processes.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Proven experience as a Category Manager, Product Manager, or similar commercial role.
- Strong understanding of category management principles and commercial strategy.
- Experience developing and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, customer, and market data.
- Commercially focused with a strong understanding of market share growth strategies.
Desirable
- Experience within consumer goods, floorcare, haircare, home appliances, power tools, or garden equipment sectors.
- Experience managing products through major retailers and e-commerce platforms.
- Knowledge of CRM, marketing automation, and digital analytics tools.
- Experience working with Amazon and online marketplace strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, preferably with a specialisation in Digital Marketing, Business, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional marketing qualifications would be advantageous.
- Experience as a Category Manager is highly beneficial and strongly preferred.
