Full job description

As a result of continued success and an on-going programme of strategic growth, we are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Mechanical 3D CAD Design Engineer with a background in working within the sheet metal and fabrication industry to complement our established and successful team. Working as part of a dedicated CAD design team and working closely with operational production teams, the successful candidate will be tasked with performing a range of CAD design and possibly project management activities. Experience of 3D software, such as Inventor or Solidworks is essential. Good communication skills are essential as is the ability to plan your workload. As the Company excel in taking projects from concept through to prototype design and manufacture, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to at least HNC level or above in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline, and realistically demonstrate previous experience of performing a CAD design engineer role allied to the sectors mentioned above.

THE ROLE:

* Designing, issuing manufacturing drawings, liaising with production and the customer and compiling documentation.

* Outline engineering designs from inception to completion of schemes utilising in-house resources.

* The timely completion of multiple concurrent projects within budget * Ascertain preliminary and detailed design requirements and solutions

* Complete contract documentation

* Co-ordinate and liaise with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house functions, site installations and construction teams

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

* 3D CAD Experience (Preferably Autodesk Inventor)

* Qualified to a minimum of HNC level in a Mechanical Engineering discipline

* Proficient with 2D & 3D design

* Experience working in a design / drawing office within a manufacturing / engineering environment.

* Background in Sheet Metal and Fabrication

* Be able to liaise with stakeholders both internal and external such as across departments, with production, procurement, sales staff and customers to understand needs regarding drawings, specifications and BOMs

* Experienced in the use of all Microsoft Office Packages

DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

* Experience with Autodesk vault or other CAD Data Management Software

* Experience with advanced 3D CAD tools such as spreadsheet driven parameters (illogic).

* Understanding of ERP systems

* Project Management skills

* Experience working in the HVAC industry

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
