Full job description

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine . The service welcomes applications each year from those taking time away from structured medical education or those seeking a fixed term non-training appointment to widen experience.

The service seeks a mixture of junior and senior clinical fellows and applications will be screened to identify the appropriate level for your qualifications and experience when you apply. All applicants should have full GMC registration and licence to practice in the UK, and will preferably have experience within emergency medicine.

Applicants should also have experience working in a substantive role in the NHS (not a clinical attachment) Please see the person spec for further qualification and experience requirements. The existing clinical team fully supports fellowships which enhance the knowledge, skills and experience of the successful candidates.

Senior Clinical Fellows roles are 50% in the chosen specialist area and 50% in main ED. Junior Clinical Fellows are afforded 20% of their job plan as non-clinical time. The department is committed to continuing professional development and you will be joining a dedicated and motivated team delivering care to the patients of Bradford.

The role will include out of hours working on a rota basis.

Clinical Responsibilities

Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in the Emergency Department under consultant supervision.
Actively participate in clinical decision-making and patient management, including resuscitation and trauma care.
Work within the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centred care.
Engage in teaching and supervision of medical students, and allied health professionals.
Contribute to departmental audits, research, and service development initiatives.
Participate in the departmental clinical governance programme, including morbidity and mortality meetings.

Work collaboratively with other departments such as the Acute Medical Unit, Ambulatory Care Unit, and Intensive Care to ensure comprehensive patient management.
You will have the opportunity to choose a certain area to focus on. We have a great team and you will be able to develop your skills in education, ultrasound, palliative care, paediatrics, risk. To be discussed with your supervisor once appointed.
